A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident on the Twelfth night in Belfast.

He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Three other teenage boys, aged 14, 16 and 17, were also cautioned at the scene on suspicion of common assault.

Police say the injured party was “no longer present” when they attended the reported assault.

It happened on the Donegall Road on July 12 just before 9.30pm.

Officers are appealing for the person injured in the incident to contact them.

“We would ask that the injured party, described as having a dark beard and wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, make contact with us as soon as possible,” a spokesperson said.

“We want to emphasise that there is no suspicion of wrong-doing on their part and we simply wish to check that they are safe and well.

They added that they are also “keen to talk to any members of the public who were in the area and witnessed the assault” or who may have footage of the incident.
